Costa Rica looks so beautiful. So happy they are trying to preserve the beauty and not let tourism destroy it.

I've never been to Costa Rica before,it looks very beautiful. It's wonderful that with such a high volume of tourism that they are able preserve the beauty of the rain forest & coast line. The picture from the plane window of the coast line is just amazing, so clear.

Janet and Teri, thanks for the posts. The tourism in Costa Rica is good on one hand because it raises awareness for conservation. That is important because we've created a market for things like beef, hardwood, and other exports--and those are the reasons that forests are lost. So tourism offers an alternative source of income other than those exports.
On the other hand, too much tourism could backfire too, just like anywhere, if people are not careful about how they use the land. One thing that is really cool about the Osa Penninsula is that it is relatively "untouched" by people. But I think that as more and more people come to the area, a little environmental awareness will go a long way.

i loved your photos, they were amazing.i would some day like to visit costa rica, but i think that ecotourism is bad because you are invading the animals' environment. overall, it was nice

The photos in this were so wonderfully taken! It would be fantastic if I were to ever get the chance to go. Remarkable captions also. It was brilliant.
